The decision to join a church should not be made until you spend sufficient time in prayer and consideration. It is best practice not to seek membership into a church until you have spent sufficient time in the worship service and getting to know the members and its leaders. It's important that you sense the Holy Spirit leading you to join like-minded believers where you can grow spiritually and use the gifts God has given you to edify the Body of Christ. It's also important for the church to have sufficient time to get to know you as well and sense the leading of the Holy Spirit of you uniting with the church to further the work the Lord has given us to do.
The 3 Ways to Join
If you have accepted Christ as Lord & Savior, we strongly encourage you to follow Jesus’ example and His command to publicly identify with Him through believer’s baptism.
If you have accepted Christ as Lord & Savior and are currently a member of a like-minded Baptist Church, you can join by requesting your letter to be transferred to Charity Baptist.
If you have accepted Christ as Lord & Savior and have been baptized as a believer by immersion but currently a member of another Christian denomination or a church that no longer exists, you can join by stating your profession of faith in Christ and having been baptized by immersion as a believer.
Regardless of how you join, the most important part is having accepted Christ as your Savior and Lord by faith in His finished work on the cross for your sins and believing that God raised Him from the dead on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
